An annual award granted for the best historical research related to Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Peninsula. This year's recipient is Dr. Khalid Al-Fahd for his in-depth study of trade relations in the Arabian Gulf during the 19th century, which drew upon rare archival documents from previously unstudied British and Ottoman archives.
An award for the best critical scholarly editing of a historical Arabic manuscript. This year's recipient is Dr. Hind Al-Mutairi for her critical edition of "Al-Durar fi Akhbar al-Buldan wal-Amsar" by historian Ibn Fahd Al-Makki, published for the first time with rigorous scholarly editing and comprehensive study.
An award for the best project in oral history and narrative documentation. This year's winner is the "Memory of Diving" project, which documented oral testimonies of the last generation of pearl divers in the Eastern Province, comprising over 200 hours of recordings with 85 elderly narrators.
An award honoring innovative projects leveraging digital technology for heritage preservation and accessibility. Awarded to a King Saud University team that developed an intelligent system using machine learning to automatically classify and catalog historical photographs with approximate location and date identification.
