King Abdulaziz Foundation (Darah) celebrated Founding Day 2026 with exceptional and diverse events under the theme "Our Roots Run Deep," featuring historical exhibitions, interactive visual presentations, scientific seminars, and educational workshops. The events attracted more than 25,000 visitors over a full week. The celebrations were highlighted by the "Three Centuries of Nation-Building" exhibition, showcasing rare documents and photographs documenting the Saudi state's journey through its three phases, from Diriyah as the capital of the First State to Riyadh as the capital of the modern Kingdom. The exhibition also featured interactive digital replicas of key founding documents. The events included the premiere of a new documentary film entitled "The Day the Dream Began," narrating the founding story of the First Saudi State through engaging storytelling enhanced with 3D animation technology. The film premiered at King Faisal Hall before officials and history enthusiasts. Darah also organized a youth research competition titled "Researching My History," which saw participation from over 500 male and female students from various Saudi universities. The top prizes were awarded to young researchers who presented outstanding work on different aspects of the founding history.
