King Abdulaziz Foundation (Darah) hosted the Seventh National Oral History Conference under the theme "Oral History in the Age of Digital Transformation," with participation from over 150 researchers from more than 20 countries. The conference aimed to develop methodologies for documenting oral narratives and exchange expertise in this vital field. The conference comprised five main sessions discussing diverse topics including the use of artificial intelligence in analyzing oral interviews, ethical challenges in oral history documentation, and international experiences in preserving collective memory. Over 40 research papers were presented by Saudi, Arab, and international scholars. Parallel workshops were held on specialized oral interview techniques and digital narrative documentation, alongside an exhibition showcasing samples of Darah's oral history projects conducted across various regions of the Kingdom. Key recommendations included establishing an Arab network for oral history, developing unified standards for oral narrative documentation in the Arab world, and strengthening cooperation among Arab archival institutions in this domain.
